On behalf of the Conference Committee (Zsolt Boda, Miklós Sebők, Rens Vliegenthart of the University of Amsterdam and Christoffer Green-Pedersen of Aarhus University) we are happy to announce that the 12th Annual Conference of the Comparative Agendas Project (CAP) will take place at the Centre for Social Sciences, Hungarian Academy of Sciences on June 6-8, 2019. We are also pleased to introduce Professor Zsolt Enyedi (Central European University) as our keynote speaker, who will deliver a lecture on The Issue Positions of Populist Parties.

The CAP is a network of research projects representing more than two dozen national and subnational governments all focused on policy attention in some form or another. With no central structure or funding source the annual CAP meeting is an important venue for sharing ideas, commenting on each other’s work and improving the quality and size of the network. In that regard we are especially interested in contributions from practitioners and scholars from outside our existing network of 100+ international academics.

Presentations based on submitted research papers in all areas of agenda-setting and public policy are welcome. Both academic and non-academic attendees are welcome. We will organize a special session on „Illiberal tendencies in policy-making”. We encourage submissions relating to this theme in particular. The conference will consist of keynote presentations, parallel panels, a junior-meets-senior session, a poster session as well as a closing plenary session discussing the future of the Comparative Agendas Project.

Registering for the conference and submitting paper proposals can be done here: https://cap.tk.mta.hu/en/cap19. If you have any questions, contact us at cap2019@tk.mta.hu. Our preliminary survival guides including hotels with conference rate and transport options can be found here. Finally, we acknowledge the financial support of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences for the conference.
